Children's Ministry Director
My husband George and I, along with our three children, Trever, Kelsey and Ashley, started attending Calvary Chapel Worship Center in the summer of 2001. We had just moved here from California where I had been involved in Children’s Ministries for about 13 years. Because of my love for children, I immediately became involved teaching Sunday School at Calvary Chapel Worship Center where I am now the Children's Ministry Director.
I received the Lord about 23 years ago while working for a mortgage company in California. I was having a terrible day and said something to the receptionist about how terrible things were. She responded with, “All you need is Jesus.” It just seemed so right. I went to her house that evening for a Bible study and received Christ as my Lord and Savior. I know the Lord had been working in my heart for some time and I was finally ready to receive Him.
One of my most favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11, because I know that His plans outweigh any plans I may have for myself, and I know that His purpose for my life is the best purpose and I just need to be flexible to what He wants to do in my life. It also ties in with Philippians 4:13 where God tells us to be anxious for nothing, which is something I continually need to be reminded of if I am going to be directed where He wants me to go. Preschool Ministry Coordinator
I have been attending Calvary Chapel Worship Center for about seven years now and have been serving in the preschool ministry as a teacher for about 6 years. I live in Hillsboro with my adorable dog Maddie and am the proud mother of two grown children. I absolutely love my preschoolers and have since taken on the responsibilities as the preschool ministry coordinator. My desire is to provide a warm, loving and safe environment to every child that attends CCWC and to help parents feel comfortable knowing that their child is being cared for while learning of God’s love for them. The classroom provides a structured environment where your child is ministered to through a Bible lesson, craft, snack and play each time they attend church. Sunday Nursery Ministry Coordinator
I have been attending Calvary Chapel Worship Center for about ten years now and have always enjoyed serving the families in our church. I first started as a teacher in the preschool ministry and later became the Sunday Nursery Ministry Coordinator where I have been for the past 5 years. Several years ago I took on the task of Vacation Bible School Coordinator where I have enjoyed working with other volunteers as we reach out to the children in our community. I have been married to my husband Cole for eleven years and am proud to be homeschooling our two beautiful children. Jennifer Meyer
Saturday Service Coordinator
I have been attending CCWC for five years and have been serving in Children’s Ministries for about four years now. I have been married to my wonderful husband Matthew for 18 years and we have four amazing children ages 17, 14, 11 and 7. Matthew and I were born and raised in the Hillsboro area and currently live in Cornelius where Matthew serves as a captain on the volunteer fire dept. I have been working in the banking industry for over 15 years.
Serving in Children’s Ministries is very exciting and is a place I truly enjoy ministering to the kids. It is very rewarding to teach them about the love of Jesus and to see the simplicity in which they respond to the Gospel. They truly have an open heart to the things of God and I love being a part of that experience. As well as serving in Children’s Ministries, I also serve as part of the Calvary Chapel Care Ministry where we minister to those in need who may be sick or have lost a loved one.
