The letter to the Romans is full of doctrinal statements about the nature of God, the nature of man, means of salvation, personal conduct, our coming redemption and more. We will work our way through the entire letter verse by verse so it will take us through the fall/winter/spring groups.
Study Materials: Bible
“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins …” (Col 1:13-14)
We have a new Father and a new family, but our minds have already been programmed to live in the kingdom of darkness. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” (Rom 12:1-2)
The renewing of our mind does not come automatically when we receive Christ, and it does not come naturally by our own understanding or effort. Come join us as we consider truths from God’s Word. Your relationship with Jesus will grow deeper as you understand how accepted, secure, and significant you are in Him. Discover how God has provided the means for us to overcome the wounds we suffer from this fallen world, the lies we receive from the Evil One, and the Strongholds we have allowed him to develop in our lives.

This group will use the Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary series to take a deep dive into the second half of the book of Romans, mainly chapters 9-16. (This is an ongoing group in its 10th week of a 20-week study of Romans.) This exposition of Romans is faithful to Paul’s message in the first century, but it also communicates powerfully to readers today. We are reminded by this clear and accessible commentary that the gospel is still the power that leads to salvation, and that we need to relearn the gospel daily.

This study is especially for a new believer in Jesus Christ, or one having had little or no experience with Christianity, to help you grow in your faith and to understand what Jesus meant when He said, “Follow Me”. Join us as we learn what is essential in our response to Him and as we encourage each other how to follow Jesus as disciples. You will also learn how to study the Word of God for yourself, as the way to truly know who God reveals Himself to be.

When You Pray (Young Adult Women)
We are a group for all Young Adult Women.
Do you have trouble thinking of words to say to God when you pray? Are you afraid some emotions are too intense to express to God? Do you reach the end of a day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all? You’re not alone. Prayer is the way we relate to God, but sometimes it’s a struggle. Throughout God’s Word, we encounter many voices who teach us how to pray.
In this 9-week study, join with six beloved Bible teachers who will help you study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. You’ll learn that God welcomes your praise and lament, your thanksgiving and intercession. You’ll see examples of how to pray when you’re alone and when you’re gathered with others. Above all, you’ll notice there’s no one right way to pray. As you draw near to God through prayer, you’ll find your faith strengthened and your heart united to Christ.
