The Gospel of Matthew

Matthew the tax collector, became a follower of Jesus. What does the Book of Matthew say and what does it say to me? Come join us as we discuss this book chapter by chapter and listen to Jesus’ teaching and apply it to our lives.

This study explores what the Bible teaches concerning Creation, Adam and Eve, and the Flood. It is intended to complement the film Is Genesis History? by looking at six key doctrines introduced in the first chapters of Genesis. These doctrines are related to the gospel and are important to understanding the nature of our salvation.

This letter was written to believers who were experiencing persecution and wavering a little on how important it was to keep meeting and holding fast to the truth. Sounds a little like what we are experiencing now, no? The letter to the Hebrews is an encouragement to believers to hold on even as we see ‘the Day approaching’.

Travel with us on a journey through the book of Nehemiah and learn how he served God in his mission to restore Jerusalem and the people there. Through constant prayer to the Holy Spirit, he confronted complacency, obstacles, fear, and the obstructions of the enemies of the people while rebuilding the walls, restoring the gates, and strengthening the resolve of the Jews who had returned there from captivity.

In these times of uncertainty, where emotions have been a rollercoaster for many of us, the Enemy has used this rollercoaster to allow things like fear, anxiety, depression to creep into our lives. Many have experienced isolation due to the pandemic and are experiencing emotions they have never felt before. We live in a forever changed world. However, we have hope. Did you know that while it seems the Enemy is thriving during these times, that we have weapons to fight? We have each other, and we have His word. Please join us in a 6 session / 12-week study through the 23rd Psalm as we discuss ways to fight the Enemy and not allow him a seat at our table(s).

What should I do? Who has authority over my life? Let’s go back to the beginning by exploring God’s most basic laws, which are still relevant today even when so much is being questioned and beliefs are prey to compromise. Each chapter of the book is devoted to each commandment with study guides to help. The book “Pathway to Freedom” provides a clearer understanding of what each law encompassed. We will learn that the Ten Commandments are intended to be not a ladder to climb to earn God’s acceptance but a mirror that exposes our sin and sends all of us to Christ for forgiveness. Matthew 5:17.
