What Does it Mean to be Chosen?

This study will explore one question; What Does it Mean to Be Chosen? We will take a deeper look at Isaiah 43 and its fulfillment in Jesus along with other passages from scripture that will inspire personal study. The devotional will be accompanied by viewing “The Chosen”, Season One through the lens of scripture. We will examine the fictionalized experiences and personalities of the show’s main characters. Being a follower of Jesus has beautiful and far-reaching implications. It is our hope that by the end of this study, you will have a better understanding of how Jesus invites us into fellowship and that the Bible and all of its promises are true today.

We will see God’s instructions on how to live for Him and for each other and how to recognize the spirit of antichrist.

Why are so few of us enjoying the abundant, productive life we have already inherited? Christian maturity cannot be attained by trying harder or doing more. The Holy Spirit enables us to obey God, empowers us to become like Jesus, and fills us with His Spirit. It is crucial that we learn how to listen to Him, how to follow Him, how to rely on His power, and how to walk in His fullness. We live in a culture that commends effort. In the natural world, trying harder is commendable and often effective, In the spiritual world, trying harder is detrimental if we are relying on our own sufficiency. Join us to consider the truths of walking in the Spirit and His sufficiency.

We are an ongoing group that studies the New Testament. Paul’s letter to the Roman house churches has been preeminent among the New Testament writings for its theological and pastoral influence. It focuses on the doctrine of salvation, including practical implications for believers as they live out this salvation given to them through Jesus Christ. Join us as we allow the Word of God to impart spiritual strength into our lives. We will begin the study of the Book of Romans on January 30.
