Facing the Storm
John 6:15-21
March 2, 2025
The section we are in today, focuses on what happened just after Jesus fed the 5000 with two small fishes and five loaves.
The crowd was so astonished that the Bible says that they wanted to grab Him and make Him king. Jesus immediately withdrew to the mountain to pray, but not before He gave His disciples a command to go ahead and cross the sea of Galilee to Genesaret.
This account of them crossing the sea is recorded in three of the gospels, and we will be looking at all three of them together as it gives us a greater understanding of what transpired.
When we look at the text, it does seem like this was not a ferocious category 5 hurricane storm that they were encountering, but there was a strong wind that made it very difficult.
They were experienced fisherman, but still they struggled to make headway. They were straining at the oars. Things were not going smoothly.
When we read the story with hindsight, we might fail to grasp the severity and frustration of the situation. We know in that Jesus will show up, so there is nothing to worry about.
But when you are in the middle of the storm, in the middle of the night, with no end in sight, it is sometimes much more difficult.
They didn’t have a GPS to show them where they were, how far they were into the sea, or where the shore was.
Jesus was using the situation to grow their faith, grow their perseverance, but also to cement in them a greater understanding of who He is and the authority He has.
In our lives, we all face challenges. Sometimes it seems like it’s a category 5 hurricane that wants to crush your soul and it feels like you just cannot keep your head above water.
But most of the time we are facing smaller persistent challenges that wants to drain your energy. It feels like you are rowing against the wind. It seems like things just don’t want to work out.
When we look at this encounter we can step back and have a third person perspective of what the disciples experiencing, and how it impacted them, but also where Jesus was and what goal He had in mind when He sent them onto the water.
This can help us take a step back in our lives when we go through situations and draw encouragement from this encounter.
I. Jesus Sent Them into the Storm
• Jesus sent them ahead. When we look at the time span, it seems like they have been rowing through the night in the darkness for about 8 hours.
• They were going through a trial to grow and teach them.
Illus – For example, take a training simulator. Whether it is a flight simulator, or a racing simulator, the aim of putting someone in a simulator is that they our training and putting theory into practice while in a safe environment.
• Jesus was allowing them to be in this situation although He was fully aware of what was happening; they were not. While they were in it, it was very hard and they might have felt very discouraged.
• They might have had questions like, why would Jesus send us out on the water at night? We had a long day; why couldn’t we wait till the morning and then row when we are refreshed and full of energy? It is so dark, we cannot even see where we’re going!
• I believe There are a few important lessons they had to learn, and we can learn from it as well.
A. It taught them endurance
• No matter how hard they were rowing, the wind against them was just too strong. They were not making a lot of headway.
• One thing we can give them, is that they did not quit. They kept rowing. Jesus told them to go across to the other side and that’s exactly what they were doing.
• They could have given up. They could have said that the headwind was just too strong. They could have pulled the oars and let the wind take them wherever it wanted to, but they kept rowing. They had to believe that Jesus knew what He was doing.
• It is sometimes easy to discern when we are in a massive hurricane force challenge, where we know that we know that we need to stick very close to God and hold on in faith.
• But it is the multiple smaller challenges that are likes waves that want to wear you out, distract you, and draw you away from His purpose, steal your peace.
When you are in a difficult situation, don’t give up. Hold on. I believe those are the times that we need endure, stay focused on Jesus, not get caught up in the noise of the storm. Trust in Him. Hold on. He is in the process.
B. Storms reveal our fear
• Another thing that a storm of adversity does is it exposes our fears. It’s interesting that the Bible uses the phrase that, when they saw Jesus, they thought it was a ghost.
• When we are going through things, one of the dangers is that our minds and our fears start to conjure ghosts in our lives. Some fears are real and legitimate, but most are not.
Illus – Penn State University did a study on this, and the result was very interesting. 85% of the things that people fear never come to fruition. This is staggering. How much time and energy are spent on trying to resolve problems that aren’t even there?
• Easier said than done. Remember they were rowing blindly in the night.
Illus – Everything seems to feel worse at night…till the sun rises. And after you’ve gone through the season, there are many times that you look back and you wonder why you even worried.
• Benjamin Franklin said, “Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight”.
• This is great advice. Jesus is the light that we live in. Do not be fixated on the ghost in the darkness. Bring your situation to the light. Bring your situation to Jesus.
Illus – Something most kids have experienced before, is seeing some figure in their rooms in the darkness…
II. Jesus Is in the Storm
• We read that in the 4th watch, Jesus was coming towards them on the water. As we saw in the previous point, they thought they were seeing a ghost.
• From a different perspective, sometimes the answer that God brings might even look scary. We see this all throughout the Bible.
• There were many times that God led people into situations that they thought were impossible, scary situations. Take Gideon and his 300 men. Or Jehoshaphat led by the musicians and singers into battle. Or Daniel, being faithful, but then having to spend a night in the Airbnb full of lions.
• The disciples cried out in fear, but then Jesus spoke to them and said, “It is I, do not be afraid!”
A. Hear His voice
• It is crucial to hear His voice in storm. It is like the simulator instructor speaking in the headset of the pilot going through an impossibly difficult maneuver. The trainee can choose to take off the headphones and try on his own, or be tuned in to the instructor.
• We hear the voice of Jesus through His word. There is a very important reason that the Bible was given and God’s promises were written down. It is so that we could have a sure foundation to stand on.
• Sometimes in the storm it is difficult to hear.
• People have asked me many times why God doesn’t just speak audibly directly to them? The answer is that we are easily led and influenced by our emotions and feelings which clouds our judgment and ability to ‘hear’ God.
• If God would speak to you audibly you would even later be able to talk yourself out of the experience of hearing God.
John 12:28-29, Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.” So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered;
• This is why we need to hold on to His word, His promises, be encouraged by teaching, and those who walk in faith with us.
B. Receive Jesus into the problem
• verse 21a- So they were willing to receive Him into the boat…
• This is such a key principle and key verse. I always like to think about what the alternative outcome could have been.
• They could have said, ‘Jesus, you are incredible. You are walking on water. It is so great to see what you can do. We can see you are heading to the shore. We hope that we will be with you on the shore soon. You go ahead and we will keep rowing until we get to where you are.’
• You might say that it is a ridiculous notion. Jesus is there! Why would they not want Him to get in the boat?
• It is still a choice. A choice we also have. And many choose to not invite Jesus into the boat. Too many times, when we are facing an adversity, we try many other possible plans instead.
• We try and struggle and strain for too long before allowing Jesus into the boat. Taking it to Jesus should be our first response.
• Some people think that Jesus is too busy. They don’t want to bother Him.
Illus – We used to have an elective where we would do problem solving… Come back when you have the answer… Don’t give me problems, give me solutions.
• This is not what He expects of us. He wants us to come to Him, ask Him, draw from Him, live with His guidance and wisdom.
John 15:5, I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
• Branches don’t connect with the vine once a week and then try to go it alone.
• Verse 21b – and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.
• This to me is like the instructor switching off the flight sim and opening the door, and there you are, safe on the ground.
• As soon as Jesus stepped into the boat, all the training and anxiety were over. They were just miraculously at the other side.
• This is something we may miss when reading about this encounter. This was a miracle.
• Jesus can get you there faster. He can do it in no time.
• One of the principles of trust and faith is that, if you give it to Jesus, His peace that transcends all understanding takes hold of your heart. You have a surety that you are already secure in Him.
Illus – Take our eternal hope as an example. Although I am not in heaven yet, I already have security eternity. I am already saved, even though I don’t see eternity in the physical sense yet.
• We can praise God for what we do not yet see as if it already is. Not naming and claiming things, but knowing that in Jesus, the solution has already come.
• It just needs to be manifested in the physical. Let it be on earth as it is in heaven. Sometimes it is quick, sometimes it takes longer. Whatever His plan is, it is good. It is perfect, and we can rest in it.
C. Keep Looking at Jesus
• When Peter heard Jesus’ voice he reacted boldly. You just gotta love Peter. He said, “Lord if it is you, command me to come to you onto the water.’ To which Jesus replied, “Come”.
• I don’t know about you, but this took some faith. Peter stepped out on the water, and for the first few steps it went brilliantly.
• But then he got frightened when he looked at the wind and the waves, and as soon as fear crept in and he took his eyes off Jesus, he started to sink. But then Peter did one thing right. He cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’
• Sometimes, in difficult situations, you might have moments where you take your eyes off Jesus, and it feels like you are sinking.
• I’m so thankful that Jesus didn’t reply, ‘No, you wanted to walk out on the water. You walk now. Where is your faith? You are so weak. I think I should make an example of you showing what happens to people when they don’t have enough faith. Peter, you are going to go down in the annals of history as the man who died by drowning because he didn’t have enough faith.’
• The Bible tells us that Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and took hold of him and said, you of little faith why did you doubt?
• Jesus wasn’t harshly scolding him on his faith, but I hear the heart of a Savior who wants his children to live in the continual knowing that He is there and will never leave them or forsake them.
• Jesus has you in His hand.
D. Have a tender heart
• Mark’s version of the story closes with a key verse.
Mark 6: 51-52, Then He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were utterly astonished, for they had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but their heart was hardened.
• They missed the miracle with the feeding of the 5000. How is that possible? They were so busy with the work of the ministry that the deep realization of who Jesus is and what He was doing never took hold of their hearts.
• We can miss what God is doing by not looking for it. God is busy, every day. He does a million little miracles. Thank Him. Be in the moment.
Illus – Thorns and roses…
• Jesus used this event to break through to them. He allowed them to be in the struggle long enough so they could see Him walking on the water and see the miracle when it happened. He broke through the hardness of their hearts.
• Unfortunately, this is something that sometimes applies to people in this life. They can be walking with Jesus, but are so used to the rote, that they miss Him. Their hearts can be hardened while following.
Illus – Take the story of Samuel and Eli…
Matthew 14:33, And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”
• We need to again come to a place of expectancy, standing in awe of God, be present. Not fall in the trap of following Him by rote, so used to the Christian walk that we miss the wonder of Him.
• Jesus, let me never take you for granted. I want a tender heart.

15 So Jesus, aware that they intended to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself, alone.
16 Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, 17 and after getting into a boat, they started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 In addition, the sea began getting rough, because a strong wind was blowing. 19 Then, when they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they *saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat; and they were frightened. 20 But He *said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” 21 So they were willing to take Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.
Enfrentando la tormenta

La sección en la que estamos hoy, se enfoca en lo que sucedió justo después de que Jesús alimentó a los 5000 con dos peces pequeños y cinco panes.
La multitud estaba tan asombrada que la Biblia dice que querían agarrarlo y hacerlo rey. Jesús se retiró inmediatamente a la montaña para orar, pero no antes de dar a sus discípulos la orden de seguir adelante y cruzar el mar de Galilea hasta Genesaret.
Este relato de ellos cruzando el mar está registrado en tres de los evangelios, y los veremos a los tres juntos, ya que nos da una mayor comprensión de lo que sucedió.
Cuando miramos el texto, parece que no se trataba de una feroz tormenta de huracanes de categoría 5 con la que se estaban encontrando, sino que había un fuerte viento que lo hacía muy difícil.
Eran pescadores experimentados, pero aun así luchaban por avanzar. Se esforzaban por tocar los remos. Las cosas no iban bien.
Cuando leemos la historia en retrospectiva, es posible que no logremos comprender la gravedad y la frustración de la situación. Sabemos que Jesús aparecerá, así que no hay nada de qué preocuparse.
Pero cuando estás en medio de la tormenta, en medio de la noche, sin un final a la vista, a veces es mucho más difícil.
No tenían un GPS que les mostrara dónde estaban, qué tan lejos estaban en el mar o dónde estaba la orilla.
Jesús estaba usando la situación para hacer crecer su fe, aumentar su perseverancia, pero también para cimentar en ellos una mayor comprensión de quién es Él y la autoridad que tiene.
En nuestras vidas, todos enfrentamos desafíos. A veces parece que es un huracán de categoría 5 que quiere aplastar tu alma y parece que simplemente no puedes mantener la cabeza fuera del agua.
Pero la mayoría de las veces nos enfrentamos a desafíos más pequeños y persistentes que quieren agotar tu energía. Se siente como si estuvieras remando contra el viento. Parece que las cosas simplemente no quieren funcionar.
Cuando observamos este encuentro, podemos dar un paso atrás y tener una perspectiva en tercera persona de lo que los discípulos experimentaron, y cómo les impactó, pero también dónde estaba Jesús y qué objetivo tenía en mente cuando los envió al agua.
Esto puede ayudarnos a dar un paso atrás en nuestra vida cuando atravesamos situaciones y a obtener aliento de este encuentro.
I. Jesús los envió a la tormenta
⮚ Jesús los envió por delante. Cuando miramos el lapso de tiempo, parece que han estado remando durante la noche en la oscuridad durante aproximadamente 8 horas.
⮚ Estaban pasando por una prueba para crecer y enseñarles.
Ilustración: por ejemplo, tome un simulador de entrenamiento. Ya sea un simulador de vuelo o un simulador de carreras, el objetivo de poner a alguien en un simulador es que se entrene y ponga en práctica la teoría en un entorno seguro.
⮚ Jesús les estaba permitiendo estar en esta situación a pesar de que estaba plenamente consciente de lo que estaba sucediendo; No lo eran. Mientras estuvieron en ella, fue muy duro y es posible que se sintieran muy desanimados.
⮚ Podrían haber tenido preguntas como, ¿por qué Jesús nos enviaría al agua por la noche? Tuvimos un día largo; ¿Por qué no podíamos esperar hasta la mañana y luego remar cuando estuviéramos refrescados y llenos de energía? ¡Está tan oscuro que ni siquiera podemos ver a dónde vamos!
⮚ Creo que hay algunas lecciones importantes que tuvieron que aprender, y nosotros también podemos aprender de ellas.
A. Les enseñó a resistir
⮚ No importaba lo duro que estuvieran remando, el viento en su contra era demasiado fuerte. No avanzaban mucho.
⮚ Una cosa que podemos decirles es que no se rindieron de inmediato. Siguieron remando. Jesús les dijo que pasaran al otro lado y eso es exactamente lo que estaban haciendo.
⮚ Podrían haberse rendido. Podrían haber dicho que el viento en contra era demasiado fuerte. Podrían haber tirado de los remos y dejar que el viento los llevara a donde quisiera, pero siguieron remando. Tenían que creer que Jesús sabía lo que estaba haciendo.
⮚ A veces es fácil discernir cuando estamos en un desafío masivo con fuerza de huracán, donde sabemos que necesitamos mantenernos muy cerca de Dios y aferrarnos a la fe.
⮚ Pero son los múltiples desafíos más pequeños los que son como olas que quieren desgastarte, distraerte y alejarte de Su propósito, robar tu paz.
⮚ Cuando te encuentres en una situación difícil, no te rindas. Espera. Creo que esos son los tiempos que tenemos que soportar, mantenernos enfocados en Jesús, no dejarnos atrapar por el ruido de la tormenta. Confía en Él. Espera. Él está en el proceso.
B. Las tormentas revelan nuestro miedo
⮚ Otra cosa que hace una tormenta de adversidad es exponer nuestros miedos. Es interesante que la Biblia use la frase de que, cuando vieron a Jesús, pensaron que era un fantasma.
⮚ Cuando estamos pasando por cosas, uno de los peligros es que nuestras mentes y nuestros miedos comiencen a conjurar fantasmas en nuestras vidas. Algunos temores son reales y legítimos, pero la mayoría no lo son.
La Universidad Estatal de Pensilvania hizo un estudio sobre esto y el resultado fue muy interesante. El 85% de las cosas que la gente teme nunca llegan a buen término. Esto es asombroso. ¿Cuánto tiempo y energía se gastan en tratar de resolver problemas que ni siquiera existen?
⮚ Más fácil dicho que hecho. Recuerden que estaban remando a ciegas en la noche.
Illus – Todo parece sentirse peor por la noche… hasta que salga el sol. Y después de haber pasado la temporada, hay muchas veces que miras hacia atrás y te preguntas por qué te preocupaste.
⮚ Benjamín Franklin dijo: “No anticipes problemas ni te preocupes por lo que nunca sucederá. Manténte a la luz del sol”.
⮚ Este es un gran consejo. Jesús es la luz en la que vivimos. No te obsesiones con el fantasma en la oscuridad. Saca tu situación a la luz. Lleva tu situación a Jesús.
Illus – Algo que la mayoría de los niños han experimentado antes, es ver alguna figura en sus habitaciones en la oscuridad …
II. Jesús está en la tormenta
⮚ Leemos que en la cuarta vigilia, Jesús venía hacia ellos en el agua. Como vimos en el punto anterior, creyeron que estaban viendo un fantasma.
⮚ Desde una perspectiva diferente, a veces la respuesta que Dios trae puede parecer incluso aterradora. Vemos esto a lo largo de toda la Biblia.
⮚ Hubo muchas ocasiones en las que Dios llevó a las personas a situaciones que pensaban que eran imposibles, situaciones aterradoras. Por ejemplo, Gedeón y sus 300 hombres. O Josafat, conducido por los músicos y cantores a la batalla. O Daniel, siendo fiel, pero luego teniendo que pasar una noche en el fosa lleno de leones.
⮚ Los discípulos gritaron de miedo, pero entonces Jesús les habló y les dijo: «¡Soy yo, no temáis!»
A. Escucha Su voz
⮚ Es crucial escuchar Su voz en la tormenta. Es como si el instructor del simulador hablara por el auricular del piloto que realiza una maniobra imposiblemente difícil. El alumno puede optar por quitarse los auriculares y probarlo por su cuenta, o estar sintonizado con el instructor.
⮚ Escuchamos la voz de Jesús a través de Su palabra. Hay una razón muy importante por la que se dio la Biblia y se escribieron las promesas de Dios. Es para que podamos tener una base segura sobre la cual apoyarnos.
⮚ A veces, en la tormenta, es difícil escuchar.
⮚ La gente me ha preguntado muchas veces por qué Dios no les habla directamente de manera audible. La respuesta es que somos fácilmente guiados e influenciados por nuestras emociones y sentimientos, lo que nubla nuestro juicio y nuestra capacidad de “escuchar” a Dios.
⮚ Si Dios te hablara audiblemente, incluso más tarde serías capaz de convencerte a ti mismo de la experiencia de escuchar a Dios.
Juan 12:28-29, Entonces una voz vino del cielo, diciendo: “Yo lo he glorificado, y lo volveré a glorificar”. Y la muchedumbre que estaba allí y lo oyó decía que había sido un trueno;
⮚ Es por eso que necesitamos aferrarnos a Su palabra, Sus promesas, ser animados por la enseñanza y por aquellos que caminan en fe con nosotros.
B. Recibe a Jesús en el problema
⮚ Versículo 21a- De modo que estaban dispuestos a recibirlo en la barca…
⮚ Este es un principio clave y un versículo clave. Siempre me gusta pensar en cuál podría haber sido el resultado alternativo.
⮚ Podrían haber dicho: ‘Jesús, eres increíble. Estás caminando sobre el agua. Es genial ver lo que puedes hacer. Podemos ver que te diriges a la orilla. Esperamos estar pronto con ustedes en la orilla. Tú sigue adelante y nosotros seguiremos remando hasta que lleguemos a donde tú estás.
⮚ Se podría decir que es una noción ridícula. ¡Jesús está ahí! ¿Por qué no querrían que Él se subiera a la barca?
⮚ Sigue siendo una elección. Una opción que nosotros también tenemos. Y muchos optan por no invitar a Jesús a subir a la barca. Muchas veces, cuando nos enfrentamos a una adversidad, intentamos muchos otros planes posibles.
⮚ Tratamos de luchar y esforzarnos durante demasiado tiempo antes de permitir que Jesús suba a la barca. Llevarlo a Jesús debería ser nuestra primera respuesta.
⮚ Algunas personas piensan que Jesús está demasiado ocupado. Ellos no quieren molestarlo.
Ilustración – Solíamos tener una asignatura electiva en la que resolvíamos problemas… Vuelve cuando tengas la respuesta… No me des problemas, dame soluciones.
⮚ Esto no es lo que Él espera de nosotros. Él quiere que nos acerquemos a Él, que le pidamos, que nos aprovechemos de Él, que vivamos con Su guía y sabiduría.
Juan 15:5, yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos; el que permanece en mí y yo en él, ése da mucho fruto, porque separados de mí nada podéis hacer.
⮚ Las ramas no se conectan con la vid una vez a la semana y luego intentan hacerlo solos.
⮚ Versículo 21b – Y al instante la barca llegó a la tierra a la que iban.
⮚ Esto para mí es como si el instructor apagara el simulador de vuelo y abriera la puerta, y ahí estás, a salvo en el suelo.
⮚ Tan pronto como Jesús subió a la barca, todo el entrenamiento y la ansiedad terminaron. Estaban milagrosamente al otro lado.
⮚ Esto es algo que podemos pasar por alto al leer sobre este encuentro. Esto fue un milagro.
⮚ Jesús puede llevarte allí más rápido. Puede hacerlo en poco tiempo.
⮚ Uno de los principios de la confianza y la fe es que, si se la das a Jesús, Su paz, que trasciende todo entendimiento, se apodera de tu corazón. Tienes la certeza de que ya estás seguro en Él.
Ilustración – Tomemos nuestra esperanza eterna como ejemplo. Aunque todavía no estoy en el cielo, ya tengo seguridad en la eternidad. Ya estoy salvado, aunque todavía no veo la eternidad en el sentido físico.
⮚ Podemos alabar a Dios por lo que aún no vemos como si ya lo fuera. No nombrar y reclamar las cosas, sino saber que en Jesús, la solución ya ha llegado.
⮚ Solo necesita manifestarse en lo físico. Que sea en la tierra como en el cielo. A veces es rápido, a veces lleva más tiempo. Cualquiera que sea Su plan, es bueno. Es perfecto, y podemos descansar en él.
C. Sigue mirando a Jesús
⮚ Cuando Pedro escuchó la voz de Jesús, reaccionó con valentía. Solo tienes que amar a Pedro. Él dijo: “Señor, si eres tú, mándame que vaya a ti sobre el agua”. A lo que Jesús respondió: “Ven”.
⮚ No sé ustedes, pero esto requirió algo de fe. Pedro salió al agua, y los primeros pasos fueron brillantes.
⮚ Pero luego se asustó cuando miró el viento y las olas, y tan pronto como el miedo se apoderó de él y apartó los ojos de Jesús, comenzó a hundirse. Pero entonces Pedro hizo una cosa bien. Él exclamó: ‘¡Señor, sálvame!’
⮚ A veces, en situaciones difíciles, puedes tener momentos en los que quitas los ojos de Jesús y sientes que te estás hundiendo.
⮚ Estoy muy agradecida de que Jesús no respondiera: ‘No, querías caminar sobre el agua. Caminas ahora. ¿Dónde está tu fe? Eres tan débil. Creo que debería poner un ejemplo de lo que le sucede a la gente cuando no tiene suficiente fe. Pedro, vas a pasar a los anales de la historia como el hombre que murió ahogado porque no tuvo suficiente fe’.
⮚ La Biblia nos dice que Jesús inmediatamente extendió su mano, lo tomó y le dijo: Hombre de poca fe, ¿por qué dudaste?
⮚ Jesús no lo estaba regañando duramente por su fe, pero escuchó el corazón de un Salvador que quiere que sus hijos vivan en el conocimiento continuo de que Él está allí y nunca los dejará ni los abandonará.
⮚ Jesús te tiene en Su mano.
D. Tener un corazón tierno
⮚ La versión de Marcos de la historia cierra con un versículo clave.
Marcos 6:51-52: Entonces subió a la barca con ellos, y el viento se detuvo; Y estaban completamente asombrados, porque no habían obtenido ninguna comprensión del incidente de los panes, pero su corazón se endureció.
⮚ Se perdieron el milagro con la alimentación de los 5000. ¿Cómo es posible? Estaban tan ocupados con la obra del ministerio que la profunda comprensión de quién era Jesús y lo que estaba haciendo nunca se apoderó de sus corazones.
⮚ Podemos pasar por alto lo que Dios está haciendo si no lo buscamos. Dios está ocupado todos los días. Él hace un millón de pequeños milagros. Agradécele. Vive el momento.

⮚ Jesús aprovechó este evento para abrirse paso hacia ellos. Él les permitió estar en la lucha el tiempo suficiente para que pudieran verlo caminando sobre el agua y ver el milagro cuando sucedió. Rompió la dureza de sus corazones.
⮚ Desafortunadamente, esto es algo que a veces se aplica a las personas en esta vida. Pueden estar caminando con Jesús, pero están tan acostumbrados a la rutina, que lo extrañan. Sus corazones pueden endurecerse mientras siguen.

⮚ Necesitamos volver a un lugar de expectación, estar asombrados de Dios, estar presentes. No caer en la trampa de seguirlo de memoria, tan acostumbrados al caminar cristiano que nos perdemos la maravilla de Él.
⮚ Jesús, permíteme nunca darte por sentado. Quiero un corazón tierno.
