Desiring Deeper Life
Acts 6:1-10
March 7-8, 2026
The theme of these verses is that God is transforming lives. That’s what God is doing. When there is a revival, when there is spiritual transformation, it has a direct impact on how you live your life – in the daily living. Many people hear the gospel, and their hearts are drawn to believe, to believe that God takes messed up sinners and transforms them into sons and daughters.
God takes them from who they once were in their broken messed up lives, and presses into them the deeper things, the spiritual things, that move them from who they once were to the maturing of their faith. And these verses in Acts 6 help us to understand that such maturity, such a transformation is seen in the living out of that maturity in your marriage, your family, your business, but more than anything in who you are becoming.
In Acts 6, the church was increasing in number. The disciples were continuing every day in the temple and from house to house teaching and preaching Jesus as the Messiah, the Redeemer of the world.
The church had faced opposition from the Jewish leaders. Some of the disciples were arrested, ordered not to teach any longer in the name of Jesus, but the disciples responded, “We must obey God rather than men.”
At this point the church was living communally-everyone was sharing everything in common. They took their meals together. Many sold their property or houses and contributed the proceeds to the community of those living together.
In this chapter, however, a conflict arises within the church. There are rumblings of discontent. A complaint arose because the Jews that spoke Greek accused the Jews that spoke Hebrew of overlooking their widows in the daily serving of food. There’s a conflict in the church.
This is probably a shock to you. You’re probably having a hard time imagining that a church would actually have an internal dispute. People are unhappy because the food isn’t being distributed fairly? Shocking.
Of course I’m being sarcastic, it’s more likely that you’re saying, “Now that’s the church I’ve come to know and love. It’s starting to look more familiar now.” And you would be right. Of course, that sort of thing is still happening today.
Why is it that people get upset over things that don’t matter? Once again, it’s the human factor. We’ve all heard stories of churches that split over the color of the carpet or the color of paint on the building.
I’ll also never forget the lady who let me know she didn’t like that we painted the ceiling black.
That reminds me of the story of a guy who was stranded on a deserted island. When the rescuers finally arrived, they noticed three buildings, so they asked him what they were for…
The church in Corinth had a dispute because those who were moving in the spiritual gifts were acting superior to the others. Paul wrote to them and said, “Let me show you a more excellent way.” The more excellent way he showed them was the way of love. That’s 1 Corinthians 13.
In Acts 6, the disciples respond to this division by asking that men be chosen who can help in ministering the food. The men they choose are men who were full of wisdom and the Holy Spirit.
They are the earliest of those who could be considered deacons, serving, yes, but serving out of the maturity of their faith. In other words, they have such spiritual maturing that you could see it in how they lived and how they served and how they impacted the lives around them. Spiritual faith that can be seen in the maturity of life. This is set before us as an example such that we desire the same, desire deeper spiritual life and deeper wisdom for life.
I. The Church Matures Together
- A church can be compared to a family and in our family, everyone helps, everyone contributes something. And everyone is called to grow together in maturity.
- In verses 1- 2, a conflict arose and the assumption was that the disciples would step in and solve the issue by serving the food themselves.
- The disciples instead asked for men to be selected who could be put in charge of the task. They need others to rise up and help serving tables.
- The word he uses for “serving” is the word from which we get “deacon.” They are serving in the church, but they are ministering as unto the Lord.
Colossians 3:23, Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do it as unto the Lord.
A. The church needed God’s word to mature
- The disciples said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables… We will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” In other words, to grow and mature in deeper things, the church needs the word of God.
- It’s exciting to think about the church being built up through the teaching of the word of God. I can imagine the disciples going through the Old Testament, the Tanakh, with a completely new perspective now that they understand that Jesus is the fulfillment of all of it.
- On the third day after the resurrection, Jesus came and walked alongside two men who were on their way to Emmaus. They were discussing all that had taken place and when Jesus approached them, He asked, “What are these words you are exchanging?” They answered, “Are you the only one in Jerusalem unaware of the things which have happened?” Jesus replied, “What things?”
- “The things about Jesus of Nazareth…” and they tried to explain, but when they came to the part of how the chief priests and the rulers delivered Him up to the sentence of death, they were saddened, “We were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel.” But then added, “But some women amazed us when they came to the tomb early in the morning, they did not find His body. Some of those with us went to the tomb and found it as the women said, but Him they did not see.”
Luke 24:25-27, “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?” Then, beginning with Moses and the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
- The disciples also had all the words that Jesus Himself taught. What a vast treasure God has given the church on which to be built and edified.
Matthew 28:19-20, “Go and make disciples of all the nations… Teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.”
Ezekiel 34:15, “I will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest,” declares the Lord God.
- Over and over in scripture God uses food as a picture of being nourished by the word of God.
Illus – In fact, I like to think of a pastor who teaches the word to be like a chef. He takes the word and makes a meal to nourish the soul. There is meat and vegetables and milk… and a little dessert.
- But it takes preparation to prepare a meal. It needs to be covered in prayer and given with the heart of God.
B. Be equipped for the work of service
- With the church growing exponentially, the disciples realized that others needed to rise up and help with the work of service and leading in the daily tasks.
- This was similar to when Moses was leading the people of Israel in the desert and was trying to solve all the problems himself. His father-in-law, Jethro, suggested that 70 leaders be raised up.
Exodus 18:17-18, “The thing that you are doing is not good. You will surely wear out… for the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.”
- I remember the early days of our church when I used to print the bulletin and arrive early and set up the chairs and then play piano for worship. Then a few of the guys came and helped.
Illus – But then I remember one particular Sunday when the church met at TVJA. No one showed up to help. There was no one to help carry all the sound equipment, chairs and dividers, so I did it all myself and in the process ended up smashing my toe. That’s when I did some grumbling of my own; that’s also when I felt God’s correction.
“What is it Lord, do I not serve enough?” I felt God’s answer, “This is not about whether you know how to serve; this is about whether you know how to lead.”
- That morning during the service I asked everyone to forgive me for robbing them of their blessing. I then passed out clipboards and set up four teams.
Ephesians 4:7, 11-12, To each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gifts… And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
- “For the equipping of the saints for the work of service,” Paul said, that is the same word used in Acts chapter 6. In other words, the entire church must be equipped for the work of service; building up the body of Christ.
- That being said, it is important for the leaders to set an example of serving; to have a servant’s heart.
Matthew 20:25-27, Jesus said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them… It is not this way among you, whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be the servant of all.”
Illus – But as we see from Acts 6, there are many ways to serve. Preparing a message to feed the church is serving, just like preparing the meals in the kitchen.
My problem is that I love getting involved with everything. I really wish I could be a barista at Koine Coffee and prepare meals in the kitchen and be a greeter and be an usher. – I love what I do.
Illus – Someone gave me a copy of Farm and Ranch magazine and there was a story about an old farmer who refused to give up his old plow horses…
Illus -I love being helpful, but I also admit that sometimes I can be a little too helpful. For example…
II. Desire Deeper Things
- The disciples told them to select seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom.
- In many ways, this describes the Christian who is growing in their faith and becoming mature in Christ. This is what Paul was saying in Ephesians 4.
Ephesians 4:12-13, Building up the body of Christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
- In other words, we should all have the spiritual goal of becoming mature in Christ.
A. Have a good reputation
- Everyone has a reputation; the question is whether it’s good or bad. Having a good reputation doesn’t mean that everyone agrees with you, but it does mean that they respect you.
Proverbs 22:1, A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, favor is better than silver and gold.
- A good reputation comes from taking the principles of God’s word and applying them in every situation, whether it’s work or marriage or parenting or your finances; the principles of God’s word are to be lived.
- Some people see the principles of God’s word as a theory only; when it comes to real life, however, they revert to what they learned from the world.
- An example would be how you handle conflict.
- These men in Acts 6 are being asked to solve a division. There were people grumbling in the church and they needed people who could actually make it better.
Illus – Pastor Matthew often tells the story about when we were first discussing about him coming on staff and I said, “I want to be able to send you into a conflict and know that you will make it better.” That’s who they were looking for as well.
- In verse 5 it says that Stephen was a man full of faith. A person full of faith believes that God’s word is effective and will stay the course knowing that God is true to His word and that fruit will come in time.
B. Be full of the Holy Spirit
- These men not only had a good reputation, but they were also full of the Holy Spirit. How can you see that in a person’s life?
- One of the best ways is to look for the fruit of a person’s life. Jesus said that a tree is known by its fruit.
- The fruit of the Holy Spirit is the nature and character of God, and these are the things that come into our lives because of the presence of God — His Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23, The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
- The fruit of the Spirit is part of growing in maturity; fruit doesn’t ripen all at once, it comes from abiding on the vine, it comes from our relationship to Christ.
- In other words, being filled by the Holy Spirit is something you desire and ask God to do so that your life can be used for His glory.
C. Be filled with wisdom
- “Find people who have a good reputation, that are full of the Spirit and of wisdom,” the disciples said.
- In verse 9-10 some men rise up and argued with Stephen, but they could not cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.
- Wisdom is something you can obtain. In fact, God tells us that obtaining wisdom should be one of our highest priorities in life.
Proverbs 4:7, 13 “The beginning of wisdom is: acquire wisdom; and with all your acquiring, get understanding.… Take hold of instruction; do not let go. Guard her, for she is your life.”
- Foolishness can only see what’s happening at the moment; wisdom is the ability to see with insight – it is able to discern. Wisdom sees that what happens today will affect tomorrow. Wisdom sees the danger in sin and the value of spiritual things.
- Wisdom will also tell you where to get more.
Colossians 2:3, In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Acts 6:1-10 NASB
6 1Now at this time while the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint arose on the part of the Hellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food. 2 So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables. 3 Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task. 4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” 5 The statement found approval with the whole congregation; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch. 6 And these they brought before the apostles; and after praying, they laid their hands on them.
7 The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.
8 And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people. 9 But some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, including both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and argued with Stephen. 10 But they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.
Deseando una vida más profunda
Hechos 6:1-10

El tema de estos versículos es que Dios está transformando vidas. Eso es lo que Dios está haciendo. Cuando hay un avivamiento, cuando hay una transformación espiritual, este tiene un impacto directo en cómo vivimos y en nuestra vida diaria. Muchas personas escuchan el evangelio y sus corazones se sienten atraídos a creer, a creer que Dios toma a pecadores corruptos y los transforma en hijos e hijas.
Dios los rescata de quienes una vez fueron en sus vidas rotas y desastrosas, y les inculca las cosas más profundas, las espirituales, que los llevan de quienes una vez fueron a la madurez de su fe. Y estos versículos de Hechos 6 nos ayudan a comprender que dicha madurez, tal transformación, se ve en vivir esa madurez en su matrimonio, su familia, su negocio, pero sobre todo, en la persona en la que se están convirtiendo.
En Hechos 6, la iglesia crecía en número. Los discípulos continuaban cada día en el templo y de casa en casa enseñando y predicando a Jesús como el Mesías, el Redentor del mundo.
La iglesia se había enfrentado a la oposición de los líderes judíos. Algunos discípulos fueron arrestados y se les ordenó que no enseñaran más en el nombre de Jesús, pero los discípulos respondieron: “Debemos obedecer a Dios antes que obedecer a los hombres”.
En ese momento, la iglesia vivía en comunidad: todos compartían todo. Comían juntos. Muchos vendían sus propiedades o casas y donaban las ganancias a la comunidad de quienes vivían juntos.
En este capítulo, sin embargo, surge un conflicto dentro de la iglesia. Hay rumores de descontento. Surgió una queja porque los judíos de habla griega acusaron a los judíos de habla hebrea de descuidar a sus viudas en el servicio diario de alimentos. Hay un conflicto en la iglesia.
Probablemente esto te sorprenda. Probablemente te cueste imaginar que una iglesia tenga una disputa interna. ¿La gente está descontenta porque la comida no se distribuye equitativamente? ¡Qué sorpresa!
Claro que estoy siendo sarcástico, es más probable que digas: “Esa es la iglesia que he llegado a conocer y amar. Me resulta más familiar”. Y tendrías razón. Claro, ese tipo de cosas siguen sucediendo hoy en día.
¿Por qué la gente se enoja por cosas sin importancia? Una vez más, es el factor humano. Todos hemos oído historias de iglesias que se dividen por el color de la alfombra o la pintura del edificio.
Tampoco olvidaré nunca a la señora que me hizo saber que no le gustaba que pintáramos el techo de negro.
Eso me recuerda la historia de un hombre que quedó varado en una isla desierta. Cuando por fin llegaron los rescatistas, vieron tres edificios, así que le preguntaron para qué servían…
La iglesia de Corinto tenía una disputa, porque quienes se movían en los dones espirituales, actuaban con superioridad sobre los demás. Pablo les escribió: “Permítanme mostrarles un camino aún más excelente”. El camino más excelente que les mostró fue el del amor. Eso está en 1 Corintios 13.
En Hechos 6, los discípulos responden a esta división pidiendo que se elijan hombres que ayuden a ministrar los alimentos. Los hombres que eligen están llenos de sabiduría y del Espíritu Santo.
Son los primeros en ser considerados diáconos, sirviendo, sí, pero desde la madurez de su fe. En otras palabras, su madurez espiritual se refleja en su forma de vivir, su servicio y su impacto en las vidas de quienes los rodeaban. Una fe espiritual que se refleja en la madurez de su vida. Esto nos sirve de ejemplo para que deseemos lo mismo: una vida espiritual más profunda y una mayor sabiduría para la vida.
- La Iglesia madura junta
- Una iglesia se puede comparar con una familia, y en nuestra familia todos ayudan, todos aportan algo. Y todos están llamados a crecer juntos en madurez.
- En los versículos 1 y 2, surgió un conflicto y se asumió que los discípulos intervendrían y resolverían el problema sirviendo la comida ellos mismos.
- Los discípulos, en cambio, pidieron que se seleccionaran hombres que pudieran encargarse de la tarea. Necesitaban que otros se levantaran y ayudaran a servir las mesas.
- La palabra que usa para ‘servir’ es la misma de la que deriva ‘diácono’. Sirven en la iglesia, pero ministran como para el Señor.
Colosenses 3:23 “Todo lo que hagan, háganlo de corazón como para el Señor y no para los hombres”.
- La iglesia necesitaba la palabra de Dios para madurar
- Los discípulos dijeron: “No conviene que descuidemos la palabra de Dios por servir a las mesas… Nos dedicaremos a la oración y al ministerio de la palabra”. En otras palabras, para crecer y madurar en cosas más profundas, la iglesia necesita la palabra de Dios.
- Es emocionante pensar en la iglesia que se edifica mediante la enseñanza de la palabra de Dios. Puedo imaginar a los discípulos repasando el Antiguo Testamento, con una perspectiva completamente nueva ahora que comprenden que Jesús es el cumplimiento de todo.
- Al tercer día después de la resurrección, Jesús se acercó y caminó junto a dos hombres que iban camino a Emaús. Estaban comentando todo lo sucedido, y cuando Jesús se acercó, les preguntó: “¿Qué son estas palabras que intercambian?”. Le respondieron: “¿Eres el único en Jerusalén que no sabe lo que ha sucedido”?. Jesús respondió: “¿Qué cosas?”.
- “Lo de Jesús de Nazaret…”, intentaron explicarlo, pero al llegar a la parte de cómo los principales sacerdotes y los gobernantes lo entregaron a la pena de muerte, se entristecieron: “Esperábamos que fuera él quien redimiría a Israel”. Pero luego añadieron: “Pero unas mujeres nos sorprendieron cuando fueron al sepulcro temprano por la mañana; no encontraron su cuerpo. Algunos de los nuestros fueron al sepulcro y lo encontraron como dijeron las mujeres, pero a Él no lo vieron”.
Lucas 24:25-27: “¡Oh, hombres insensatos y tardos de corazón para creer todo lo que dijeron los profetas! ¿No era necesario que el Cristo padeciera estas cosas y entrara en su gloria?”. Entonces, comenzando por Moisés y los profetas, les explicó lo referente a él en todas las Escrituras.”
- Los discípulos también poseían todas las palabras que Jesús mismo enseñó. ¡Qué inmenso tesoro ha dado Dios a la iglesia sobre la cual edificarse!
Mateo 28:19-20, “Id, pues, y haced discípulos de todas las naciones… Enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que os he mandado”.
Ezequiel 34:15: “Yo apacentaré a mis ovejas , y las guiaré a su descanso”, declara el Señor Dios.”
- Una y otra vez en las Escrituras, Dios usa la comida como una imagen de ser nutrido por la palabra de Dios.
Ilustración (Illus) – De hecho, me gusta pensar en un pastor que enseña la palabra como si fuera un chef. Toma la palabra y prepara una comida para nutrir el alma. Hay carne , verduras y leche… y un pequeño postre.
- Pero preparar una comida requiere preparación. Necesita estar cubierta con oración y ser ofrecida con el corazón de Dios.
- Estar equipado para la obra del servicio
- Con la iglesia creciendo exponencialmente, los discípulos se dieron cuenta de que otros necesitaban levantarse y ayudar con el trabajo de servicio y liderazgo en las tareas diarias.
- Esto fue similar a cuando Moisés guiaba al pueblo de Israel en el desierto e intentaba resolver todos los problemas él mismo. Su suegro, Jetro, sugirió que se formaran setenta líderes.
Éxodo 18:17-18: “Lo que haces no está bien. Sin duda te cansarás… porque la tarea es demasiado pesada para ti; no puedes llevarla a cabo solo”.
- Recuerdo los primeros días de nuestra iglesia, cuando imprimía el boletín, llegaba temprano, acomodaba las sillas y tocaba el piano durante el culto. Luego vinieron algunos chicos a ayudar.
Illus – Pero entonces recuerdo un domingo en particular cuando la iglesia se reunió en ‘TVJA’. Nadie vino a ayudar. No había nadie para cargar todo el equipo de sonido, las sillas y los separadores, así que lo hice todo yo mismo y terminé golpeándome el dedo del pie. Fue entonces cuando me quejé un poco; también fue entonces cuando sentí la corrección de Dios.
“¿Qué pasa, Señor? ¿No sirvo lo suficiente?” Sentí la respuesta de Dios: “No se trata de si sabes servir, se trata de si sabes liderar”.
- Esa mañana, durante el servicio, les pedí a todos que me perdonaran por haberles robado su bendición. Luego repartí portapapeles y formé cuatro equipos.
Efesios 4:7, 11-12, “A cada uno de nosotros fue dada la gracia conforme a la medida de los dones de Cristo… Y él mismo constituyó a unos, apóstoles; a otros, profetas; a otros, evangelistas; a otros, pastores y maestros, a fin de perfeccionar a los santos para la obra del ministerio, para la edificación del cuerpo de Cristo”
- “A fin de perfeccionar a los santos para la obra del servicio”, dijo Pablo, esa es la misma palabra usada en Hechos capítulo 6. En otras palabras, toda la iglesia debe estar equipada para la obra del servicio; edificar el cuerpo de Cristo.
- Dicho esto, es importante que los líderes den ejemplo de servicio; que tengan un corazón de siervo.
Mateo 20:25-27, Jesús dijo: “Saben que los gobernantes de las naciones se enseñorean de ellas… Entre ustedes no será así: el que quiera hacerse grande entre ustedes será su servidor, y el que quiera ser el primero entre ustedes será servidor de todos.”
Illus – Pero como vemos en Hechos 6, hay muchas maneras de servir. Preparar un mensaje para alimentar a la iglesia es servir, al igual que preparar las comidas en la cocina.
Mi problema es que me encanta involucrarme en todo . Ojalá pudiera ser barista en ‘Koine Coffee’, preparar comidas en la cocina, ser recepcionista y acomodador. Me encanta lo que hago.
Illus – Alguien me dio una copia de la revista ‘Farm and Ranch’ y allí había una historia sobre un viejo granjero que se negó a renunciar a sus viejos caballos de arado…
Illus – Me encanta ayudar, pero también admito que a veces puedo ser demasiado servicial. Por ejemplo…
II . Desea cosas más profundas
- Los discípulos les dijeron que escogieran siete hombres de buen testimonio, llenos del Espíritu y de sabiduría.
- En muchos sentidos, esto describe al cristiano que crece en su fe y madura en Cristo. Esto es lo que Pablo decía en Efesios 4.
Efesios 4:12-13, “Edificando el cuerpo de Cristo, hasta que todos lleguemos a la unidad de la fe y del conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, a un varón perfecto, a la medida de la estatura de la plenitud de Cristo”.
- En otras palabras, todos deberíamos tener la meta espiritual de llegar a ser maduros en Cristo.
- Tener una buena reputación
- Todos tenemos una reputación; la cuestión es si es buena o mala. Tener una buena reputación no significa que todos estén de acuerdo contigo, pero sí significa que te respetan.
Proverbios 22:1 “Más vale el buen nombre que las muchas riquezas; y el favor que la plata y el oro”.
- Una buena reputación proviene de tomar los principios de la palabra de Dios y aplicarlos en cada situación, ya sea el trabajo, el matrimonio, la crianza de los hijos o las finanzas; los principios de la palabra de Dios deben vivirse.
- Algunas personas ven los principios de la palabra de Dios sólo como una teoría; sin embargo, cuando se trata de la vida real, recurren a lo que aprendieron del mundo.
- Un ejemplo sería cómo manejas los conflictos.
- A estos hombres de Hechos 6 se les pide que resuelvan una división. Había gente quejándose en la iglesia y necesitaban personas que realmente pudieran solucionarla .
Illus – El pastor Matthew suele contar la historia de cuando, al principio, hablamos de su incorporación al equipo y le dije: «Quiero poder enviarte a un conflicto y saber que lo solucionarás». Eso era lo que buscaban también.
- En el versículo 5 se dice que Esteban era un hombre lleno de fe. Una persona llena de fe cree que la palabra de Dios es eficaz y perseverará sabiendo que Dios es fiel a su palabra y que el fruto llegará con el tiempo.
- Estad llenos del Espíritu Santo
- Estos hombres no solo tenían buena reputación, sino que también estaban llenos del Espíritu Santo. ¿Cómo se puede ver eso en la vida de una persona?
- Una de las mejores maneras es buscar el fruto de la vida de una persona. Jesús dijo que al árbol se le conoce por su fruto.
- El fruto del Espíritu Santo es la naturaleza y el carácter de Dios, y estas son las cosas que llegan a nuestras vidas debido a la presencia de Dios: Su Espíritu Santo.
Gálatas 5:22-23, El fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, benignidad, bondad, fidelidad, mansedumbre y dominio propio.
- El fruto del Espíritu es parte del crecimiento en madurez; el fruto no madura de una vez, proviene de permanecer en la vid, proviene de nuestra relación con Cristo.
- En otras palabras, ser lleno del Espíritu Santo es algo que deseas y le pides a Dios que haga para que tu vida pueda ser usada para Su gloria.
- Llénate de sabiduría
- “Busquen personas que tengan buena reputación, que estén llenas del Espíritu y de sabiduría”, dijeron los discípulos.
- En los versículos 9-10 algunos hombres se levantaron y discutieron con Esteban, pero no pudieron hacer frente a la sabiduría y al Espíritu con el que él estaba hablando.
- La sabiduría es algo que se puede obtener. De hecho, Dios nos dice que obtenerla debe ser una de nuestras mayores prioridades en la vida.
Proverbios 4:7, 13 «El principio de la sabiduría es: adquiere sabiduría; y con todas tus adquisiciones, adquiere entendimiento. […] Aférrate a la instrucción; no la sueltes. Guárdala, porque ella es tu vida».
- La necedad solo ve lo que sucede en el momento ; la sabiduría es la capacidad de ver con perspicacia: es capaz de discernir. La sabiduría ve que lo que sucede hoy afectará el mañana. La sabiduría ve el peligro del pecado y el valor de las cosas espirituales.
- La sabiduría también te dirá dónde conseguir más.
Colosenses 2:3, En Cristo están escondidos todos los tesoros de la sabiduría y del conocimiento.
